Neighbors Feeding Neighbors
Feeding San Diego | Produce Pantry
One in five families in San Diego isn't sure where their next meal is coming from. That's not a statistic from somewhere else. That's right here in our neighborhoods.
Food insecurity doesn't always look the way people expect. It's the family down the street choosing between groceries and rent. It's the senior on a fixed income stretching every dollar. It's a kid at your child's school going home to an empty fridge.
Suresh volunteers with Feeding San Diego at the Rancho Penasquitos Produce Pantry, where every week a team of volunteers gets fresh produce directly into the hands of families who need it. No applications. No red tape. Just neighbors helping neighbors.
Organizations like Feeding San Diego can't do it alone. They need people to show up. To sort, to carry, and to let someone know they're not invisible. Suresh shows up because as a father, these aren't abstract problems. These are his neighbors, his kids' classmates, his community.
If you want to get involved, Feeding San Diego is always looking for hands.
